Lisa has been an educator and an advocate for people in both her personal and professional life. She received her undergraduate degree in Business Management, then later went on to the University of West Florida to earn her Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Lisa began her career in finance when she worked for a nonprofit faith based. She further assisted them when she helped them open a foster care agency and a 501 (c) 3 community development organization. Feeling a greater call to help people in their everyday lives she went on to become an educator. She began her teaching career when she worked at a Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) all girl’s school in Pensacola. There she started as an English Language Arts teacher and went on to be promoted to Academic Manager where she trained and mentored other teachers. Upon the opening of Beulah Middle School Lisa went to work for the Escambia County School District. There she worked in the Business Department as a Workforce Education teacher for the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) department. While at Beulah Middle School she was asked to teach a high school level course that included industry certifications for her students. Prior to leaving Beulah her students led the district in most certifications earned at a single school. Currently Lisa works with Project SEARCH which helps young adults, who have a disability, connect to their future through on the job training at four of the Innisfree hotels located at Pensacola Beach, FL.
In addition to Lisa’s full time job with the Escambia County School District she also started Momentum Network, Inc. Momentum is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization that does workforce and life skills training, coaching, and workshops for youth and adults. Momentum also specializes in working with vulnerable populations and those with a disability. Lisa feels abundantly blessed to say that she loves the work she does everyday for the district and her nonprofit.
Lisa has been married for 31 years to her amazing husband, and together they are proud of their two children and one granddaughter. She and her husband have authored a book, and in her free time she loves to read, travel, and entertain family and friends.
